Regarding site selection for CNG mother stations, it is inadvisable to locate them within established urban development zones, and they must not be situated within city centers. Within the station premises, the width of single lanes or individual vehicle parking bays shall not be less than 4.5 meters, and the road surface paving shall not consist of asphalt.
As CNG mother stations are high-pressure environments involving flammable and explosive substances, their safe operational management is of paramount importance. A series of valves-specifically a storage cylinder bank (or storage well) shut-off valve, a main shut-off valve, an emergency shut-off valve, and a fueling shut-off valve-must be installed between the storage cylinder banks (or storage wells) and the fueling nozzles. The station's process systems incorporate integrated features such as an inlet safety shut-off system and a comprehensive station-wide safety monitoring system. Storage facilities must be equipped with at least two trolley-mounted dry powder fire extinguishers, each with a capacity of no less than 35 kg; furthermore, the grounding resistance of the lightning protection system shall not exceed 10Ω.
Combustible gas detectors must be installed throughout the station, accompanied by a PLC-controlled system comprising combustible gas alarms and shut-off devices; this system establishes an interlock relationship with the station's power supply and gas supply systems.
Given the extensive array of equipment, the high degree of automation, and the inherent nature of the facility as a high-pressure environment involving flammable and explosive substances, safe operational management is of critical importance.
